Just thought I would add my 2 penny worth as I am apparently the "kid with too much money" - I wish that was true - on both accounts !! Interesting assumption though Lostheart.
I thought the collection looked like an interesting collection of Memorabilia of my favourite band. Items that I wouldn't normally have access to because live in England, and here Social D are not particularly well known, nor covered in the music press. Even when they came over in 2005, the 3 main alternative / metal mags only managed 1 interview and 2 live reviews between them.
So was it worth it ? Don't really know until I get the stuff !! But generally if I do come across a magazine with an interview then I would normally try and get hold of it (like that recent HotRod mag), so I see this like getting a bunch of mags.
One thing worth pointing out though is that the ? is very strong against the $ at the moment. $2 to ?1. And that is coming from a country where we generally pay getting on for the same amount in ?'s for things as you guys do in $'s.
It also came up at a time when I was thinking about a new project. I recently found and old Damned fanzine I'd got back in the early 80's and it's a collection of cuttings and photo's from 1976 to 1979, and I was thinking someone ought to do that for Social D. Well here it is - hopefully.
for those interested I'll let you know what the collection is like once it arrives.......

Yea Johnny, I understand.. but do you really think you will find really old stuff in this "history book"?
Cause of this, I checked the flipside memorial website (flipsidefanzine) from Michele.. There are some things you can't buy:
Rest in peace, Dennis!:

I was wondering the same thing about how much I could get for my collection of SD??? (which is actually priceless and I would never part with it). I mean I have stuff from the eighties...got in the eighties not off ebay.
The only SD/Mike Ness stuff I ever parted with was shirts that weren't rare and were too big, so I can't say I never sold anything...
